Black Dog Bass Works
I have been noticing over the last few weeks that my bass has gotten weaker sounding. It just didn't have the volume I remembered. Thinking the Obligatos up top had lost their magic, I put some Spiro Mittels on and noticed they were almost laying on the FB. 2mm on the G! Boy, did I feel stupid:hiding:.
The bass is at 4.5/8 now and has volume and punch like I don't ever remember. Lesson learned.

A trio gig Wednesday with the old setup was mentally stressful because no matter what I did, I couldn't get the bass to speak at all. It sounded like mush. Friday was much better. Volume, punch and Ray Brown growl. I hope I can play at 300bpm tonight:eek:.

The humidity in the room has dropped from in the 50% range into the high 30% range just in the last couple of weeks. I guess it's time to hook up the humidifier.

This is a reminder as much as anything else. If your bass has lost its mojo, check string height.:D
