Personaly I see no use for them for myself. But some do seem to like them. Though Ive never seen one on other then boutique basses. They are rather expensive from prices Ive seen. I think theyre more a occassional finger style players thing rather then pick users.

Ramps look really lame to me. I'm sure they have huge benefits when playing, but they just look silly to me.

When I first started playing fretless I liked the feel of plucking over the fingerboard, but it wasn't always the tone I wanted. The ramp and pickup covers on my Sei gives me a consistent playing surface along almost the full length of the string.

I never understood, why they make it the other way, except that the GOOD
solution needs wider piece of scrap wood.yesssss. that's how all should be made.

Always a matter of preference obviously, but that Sei gets my pick for most beautiful bass I've seen to date!
