I really liked Skyfall. Imho the movie did a lot of things right, especially in terms of pace and storytelling it was great. Whereas in other bond movies (QoS especiaally) I really lost track of the story and found the cuts waaaaay to quick and confusing this one did a lot of things right! Great villain, great character development, good humour... I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it to be one of the best movies I have seen in years .

I was just about to post something similar.
I really enjoyed Skyfall. I mean, I've seen a total of about 8 Bond movies and it was probably my favorite.
Maybe it's just because I've seen it most recently, but Javier Bardem was a terrific villain (...again. No Country for Old Men is worth a watch) and I thought the plot was great.
Still, have to give it to Connery as the most iconic Bond (if not the best.)
I like Craig, but he takes 2nd or 3rd on my list.

But what do I know?
I need to catch up on some Bond movies.
:p

Not to be the "won't dignify your question with a proper answer" guy but it's late so I'll just leave you with this plot hole for now: where did Silva get the helicopter that he flew to Skyfall in? MI6 arrests him but let's him keep his aresenal? Or did he somehow steal a military helicopter which somehow was not followed to Skyfall? After you answer that, we can get started on how he coordinated the train-he-tried-to-kill-Bond-with thing. Now THERE's a marvel of scheduling.

On the helicopter bit, he would have still had ties to his mercenaries & he's presumably meant to have assets outwith the reach of MI6. How the helicopter wasn't intercepted by the RAF is an question worth asking though :p
