This bass is a TONE MONSTER.

It was previously owned by Gary Shea. It's in nice overall shape considering it's age. I have no idea about the model as I've only seen a few headless versions that are similar to it. It nails the Aria tone and is very light, easy to play and balance nicely on the strap. It comes with the original fitted gig bag. The setup and intonation is perfect and low. The trussrod and all hardware works perfectly. It has a threaded ferrule one the bottom edge of the body for a knee rest but no rest came with the bass. If I sit with it, I just just play it Flying V style :)

I bought it on eBay from Michigan Music. I would say it's in better condition than what the description below suggests:

>>>Up for auction is a used Aria Pro II bass guitar. This Super Rare Bass has a cream colored Steinberger style body.
This bass was part of Gary Shea, bassist for metal pioneers, Alcatrazz, personal collection. For those of you unfamiliar with Alcatrazz, they were a metal band that featured Yngvie Malmsteen, and Steve Vai on guitar at times. Gary was an Aria endorser, so he played more than a few of their high-ends basses with a vengeance through-out his career. This Bass was Aria's first attempt at a Steinberger style bass. Later versions of this bass had no headstock. But truly a unique piece!!

Condition: This bass has been played. There are many scuffs, dings, and a few scratches as pictured. The neck is straight, and the action is good. The tuners stay in tune. The is truly a low-end tone monster. These Aria Pro II Basses were cutting edge when they were introduced, and they still garner a great deal of recognition today. The gig bag shows wear, but overall is still in good condition.

This is a thumper of a bass, and I had a blast playing it. This is the perfect bass for anyone looking for that deep metal sound. The bass balances well, and as I said earlier the action is nice. This is the 4th piece we are offering from Gary Shea's personal collection.

Regardless, it is easy to see that this bass guitar would be an awesome player. These are already becoming quite collectible, and given the fact that is was owned, and played by one of metals true pioneers, might make it even more collectible. Who knows this may just exceed new owners expectations, and bring great joy after just a bit of play and interaction! Wouldn't that be nice! Please bid with confidence, you'll be glad you did!<<<
