Rattly strings

I recently bought a 1986 Alembic Exploiter off Ebay and it finally arrived today. Sounds good, apart from the rattly strings. I think it's just the strings hitting the frets or something. Do I have to raise the bridge or something?

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

Yes, it requires something...namely, a decent set-up. Doesn't sound as if you're familar with the process so I'd seek out a decent tech in your area. In the meantime, read up on the set-up stickies. There's no reason you can't be doing your own diagnostics and adjustments. The process can be tons o' fun and save you some cash in the long run.

Enjoy the Alembic!

Yeah I thought I might have to find a tech seeing as I don't really know about this kinda stuff. Gonna take it into my local music shop tomorrow and get them to give it a bit of service. Thanks mate!

No worries. I'll assume they know what they're doing. Hopefully, the guy will fill you in on what's right, what's wrong, and let you watch the process.

BTW, check the Alembic website for set-up tips / discussions. Very helpful!
