RE-20 Space Echo MMMBOY!!!!!

And another thing!

The reverb on this unit is unique and musical. It emulates the original Z-spring tank in the vintage echo.

It is very low on bass frequencies, which is GOOD for bass guitar. Also it has a freaky character to it. I love how it sounded when I did muted-string 'famenco brushes' ("shwack!!"); when I turned-up the reverb (I don't think this just turns up the reverb RETURN - I think it like 'drives the springs harder'. It has a different tone at different levels), and shwak!'ed it rythmically, it seemed to produce a vowely, talking character.

...It's important to understand the groove power of having three seperate, equally-spaced heads. You say "so what? so you get three echos."? The unique power you have with this configuration comes when you leave one of the three OUT! ..that's what all the different switch positions are for.

Leave-out the first one, and you get "rest; echo; echo". Leave-out the second one, and you get "echo; rest; echo". Else - "echo; echo; rest". Think about it.

When you combine this with any amount of feedback, along with tap-time - this thing GROOVES with itself. The RE-20 can groove with your playing in a way that a non multi-tap CAN NOT!

There should be more discussion of this...

No interest in this non-waveform related attribute? Y'know: I sometimes worry.

Are maybe some of the the suspicions true - from, say, some on the Technique Forum - that we put special effects and signal processing AHEAD OF GROOVE?

It's like - wow: a processor that actually GROOVES with me, instead of getting in the way or... When we talk about 'cutting through a mix', I wonder if we're sometimes actually having trouble cutiing through our selves!

I've been discovering lately that delay - even completely clean, 'non-effect' delay can be used as a 'groove amplifier'. Groove; you know - Like: that's what we DO?...

GC thinks Im tripping. I took the DL4 back, got a Akai headrush, took it back, and settled for a DD-6.

SINCE I have 2 independant stereo effects loops on my Trace head, What ive decided to do, is run my modulation pro in the full range effects loop followed by the DD-6

My filter pro is in the high pass loop, and Im going to buy another space echo to follow that. The synth strings just sound too cool in that space echo.

Booth loops can be run in series or paralell. I like paralell best.

I cant wait to hear what this will sound like.

Flange being stereo echoed alongside synthstrings stereo echoed through space :bassist:

There's two sides to the fence, you have one view I have the other.

Glad ya found what you needed though. I've had some people who really abuse the 30 days though, one guy who comes in my store in particular will buy stuff, wait 29 days, return it, but another, wait 29 days, return it, and just keep doing that.
