A thousand grand worth of stuff and no insurance?!?!?
How much dosh does it take to insure a thousand grands worth of stuff or for those that can do sums $100,000
with an insurance company that will actually cough up if it goes missing?.
I thought I was insured when £43,000 worth went missing from my studio 15 Years ago, turns out if you read the very small print you are not really legally bindingly covered for anything, so if you do ring up with the sad tidings the loss adjuster says you had better get a good lawyer.
In some area codes the insurance company that will readily pay up assume the scenario that the whole contents are likely to be stolen once every three years, therefore the premium would be circa $33,000 per annum on a like for like replacement policy.
Of course like me you can get insurance at quite low premiums from.
Fire Risk Auto Union & Defense.
Google them under FRAUD.
How much do you pay per hour in a decent studio today? Something doesn't quite add up does it.
I would say that most well established studios with well grown vintage equipment lists cant afford the fraudulent type, let alone the genuine type these days.

PS lets not be a stupid smart arse as I bet thats exactly what the burglars all kid themselves as they run away laughing with someone's life's work.
I bet you think I have an index linked pension scheme as well?.
