Double Bass Real Book IV in bass clef?

Hi,
I am coming over from the EB side, I don't play upright. But I play in a jazz band and we do standards, and I was just reading the contents of RB IV. Just Friends, A Foggy Day, On Green Dolphin Street and Days of Wine and Roses are all included. In other words, the tunes I was most missing from the 6th edition Hal Leonard RB's.

On Amazon I saw only the C instruments edition. Anyone know if there is an edition in bass clef? I want bass clef to help my reading. I am more used to treble clef from paying trumpet for many years as a kid, and I am trying to get up to speed on bass clef rather than cheat and buy only treble clef versions. Plus the bass clef version lend themselves more readily to playing heads on the bass.

I'm not certain that there is a bass clef edition. The one I use is in C and for my piano studies. My books for bass clef reading were the Ray Brown Bass Book and for electric an old bass method book by Monk Mongomery...You can get some band arrangements with bass parts, Jamie Abersold website has a lot of stuff.....................Good luck . . .

I have other versions of the charts mentioned above, but I like the Real Book look, good print, easy to read and follow, etc.

They have published their other books in all Concert, Bb, Eb and Bass Clef (probably for trombonists), so I would think that they did with this book or intend to.

I have a copy of the 'illegal' Real Book in bass clef. I believe its 5th edition. But its >10yr old, not sure if that really helps or not.

I transpose any tune i want to play the melody of on the bass. By hand. Since i've studied score grammatics or whatever the term is in english, it's pretty natural for me to write by hand. And you'r reading improves alot this way too.

To my knowledge volume IV sixth edition is fresh off the press. The HL Corp web site states only C is available but I understand that Bb is now out too which must mean bass clef and Eb are to follow...

I have my students use treble clef jazz lead sheets as that is what they will encounter in most group situations. You have a leg up being used to reading treble clef. There is plenty of bass clef music out there, including big band charts, etc. to hone your bass clef reading skills.
