Double Bass Realist and Schatten mini pre problems

On my DB I have Schaller Magnetic pickup. To get more "wood" in sound I bought David Gage Realist pickup and Schatten Mini Pre 2 preamp to blend these two together.
But I have problems with sound - I have terrible overdrived sound.
Below I am posting audio clip with following order:
1. Schaller Magnetic pickup directly in line
2. David Gage Realist directly in line
3. Schaller Magnetic pickup via Schatten Mini Pre 2 preamp
4. David Gage Realist via Schatten Mini Pre 2 preamp

I made recording using Line6 GX interface, but I've got the same sound using my Ampeg BA108 combo.
Schatten Mini Pre 2 preamp internal gain is set to 10%. If I lower internal gain of preamp there is no sound at all. Also battery is brand new from package: I tried Philips alkaline and Energizer alkaline.
Sound is not overdriven by record process. Max intensity in recording software (Ableton) was -10dB.
Cables and recording hardware are ok - Schaller Magnetic are giving nice, pure sound.

I am also posting photos of David Gage Realist mounted on my bass below.

I have no idea what to do. I cannot believe, that two thing are ordered are broken. There are both from companies with good reputation.

Any idea what I can do or try to do? I really need some help because now I can't use my staff.

"The Schatten Mini Pre 2 is a compact, lightweight, two channel belt-clip preamp with dual volume controls. The Mini Pre 2 is only 1 inch thick, 2 inches wide, and just over 3 inches in length (25mm x 50mm x 80mm) and weighs just 4.5 ounces (125 grams) with a battery. Schatten has kept things simple with the Mini Pre 2. When you're on stage there's a limit to the amount of stuff that you really want to have to deal with. So they gave the Mini Pre 2 a volume control for each channel, and that's it. This preamp features clean, crisp sound amplification and an even, flat response. Runs from a standard 9 volt battery (not included). The Schatten Mini Pre 2 is tough enough to take years of stage abuse. The Mini Pre 2 is built into a rugged ABS box that is more than tough enough to stand on. The Mini Pre 2 comes complete with a sturdy belt clip that installs on the preamp in a minute, so you may use to clip the preamp to your belt or strap, or hang it from your mic stand or music stand. The Mini Pre 2 has a stereo 1/4" TRS input jack, and a standard 1/4" mono output jack. If a 1/4" mono cord is plugged into the input, then only Channel One will operate. Channel One will preamp a pickup, and Channel Two will preamp and supply power to a condenser mic. Channel 2 can also be configured for a second pickup instead of a mic, by simply repositioning a jumper on the circuit board. Trim pots on the circuit board allow setting preamp input gains from 0 dB to 20 dB for each channel independently. Specifications Input: Stereo TRS 1/4" Output: Mono 1/4" Input Impedance: Each channel up to 10MOhm Output Impedance: Less than 3.5kOhm Battery Life: 9 volt alkaline, about 1300 hours"
