Really large gigbag?

Hey everybody,

i'm looking for a gigbag that is large enough to hold my bass, some cables and spare clothes for 2 or 3 days.

Ideally, with some kind of detachable compartment for abovementioned accessories.

Fusion Gigbags are the only ones i know which fulfill that requirement, are there any alternatives ?

I know i could take a double gigbag, but i don't really like that solution ...

Why not use a backpack of duffel for the clothes?

I remember there used to a be a gig bag with a detachable backpack, but I wasn't a fan of the protection it offered for the bass.

Hmm, the front pockets on the bag don't seem that large, really ... neither does the tick bag ...

I just like travelling with a single piece of luggage

I think you are best off getting a backpack for your other stuff. This way you have the most options.

One of those gig bags from Dean that are meant for their massive AEB's might do the trick. It might even be too big. I think you can order one for about $60USD?

I've got several backpacks, but always found it a little inconvenient having to carry two separate pieces of luggage, esp. when riding a bike or finding you way through narrow train corridors or having to walk a mile or two ...

How about a double gig bag? Carry your bass in one section and the rest of your crap in the other.

I have an iGig G515 bag and I carry everything except my speaker cabs in it... bass, micro amp, all cables, snacks, tools, singing mic, direct box, spare strings, etc.. and if you don't carry a micro amp, you'd have enough room for a couple changes of clothes. I wear the iGig bag as backpack and I carry both my 2x10s, 1 in each hand, so it's really nice to be able to carry everything I need for a gig in 1 shot from the parking lot!

Yes, thought about that one, too ... unfortunately they're not so easy to obtain in Germany

I have a Gator bag and it is stupid big. Compartments and pockets everywhere. In fact, I never use it because it is so big. Nothing detachable though.

I have a double iGig bag. When not hauling both fretless and fretted basses, it's got a fair amount of room for binders, cables, clothes, and backup amp.

Get a double bass bag, put your bass in it's own gig bag INSIDE the double bass bag, and pack clothes around to fill the space
