Reaper Volume Meter Malfunctioning

I think, ( I think) I found the problem after reading about it online.
It seemed as if the fx chain I loaded may be the cause.
I had three fx loaded, and after I deleted them, the volume seems to be functioning correctly.
To answer your question, I loaded a track with no bassline, then when I added another track, (track two) The volume meter for track two was malfunctioning.
After reading online, I decided to try deleting the fx chain, and now the volume is working correctly so far.
I had two songs loaded in Reaper, and loaded the fx chain on one of them, and everything was working fine.
When I tried to load the fx chain onto another song, Reaper disconnected.
I think this is when it happened.
I have been tinkering with so much stuff on Reaper, it's become a blur.
Now I'm going to experiment by loading one effect at a time, to see if the problem recurs.

Hmm, this is what I found.
The volume meter malfunctions when I have Reaper plug-ins installed.
With the track armed to check volume levels, the meter reads -96.3 no matter where the slider is set.
The volume itself does change with the slider.
It's the meter that is malfunctioning.
The meter works fine with the track unarmed.
I was using ReaComp, and ReaEq, and a Softube Saturation plug-in.
With the Softube plug-in only, the meter does not malfunction.
