Reasonable similarities?

I was having breakfast listening to JJ Cale and quickly remembered this other song. More than reasonable similarities in the bass lines and the whole song? What do you think?

Are you saying that EODM pilfered it? Hard to say, they throw in a weird little change at the end of the verse chord cycle, not found in the Cale tune, and each song goes to a different chorus pay-off.
It’s not exactly a fresh or genius chord progression/chord order. If you take the notes(root, minor third, fourth), you’ll hear it in the “Green Onions” or “Help Me” riff, John Lee Hooker stuff that Canned Heat and ZZ Top borrowed from, or in the Who’s “I Can See For Miles”, or the main part of the verse here…

Cale certainly isn’t original, and he used that chord sequence, at a slower pace, on his signature “After Midnight”.
The bass line similarities in those two you cited are just coincidental, if they even are that close in the first place.

Accusation of plagiarism? No, it's not my intention. From the point of view of musical structure, you may be right, but to me, the examples you give do not sound similar to the ones I have given you.
I added one more typical example, which has always been discussed here with this Spanish band from the 80-90s.
I repeat again, “reasonable similarities” or in other words “influences”?
You can continue the thread with more examples, simply for entertainment, you hear a song and it automatically reminds you of another...
