Imho, a used Carvin will be the best value. Their 6 string neck is a very comfortable profile. You could even spec a new one out for well under your budget.
If you want 35” scale length I would suggest looking into an Ibanez BTB.
If looking for massive tone and something completely different check out a used ERnie Ball Bongo 6.
Your budget is not small. You will have many choices, so figuring out what specifications you desire will help everyone involved here.
I'm also gonna suggest Kiesel/Carvin. I've played Ibanez 6 strings for the last 5 years and I just ordered my first Kiesel a few months back and I'm honestly blown away at the quality of sound and playability.
My Kiesel Vader that I ordered costed me roughly $1750. I have an Ibanez Premium that costed me $1799 at the time I bought it. Both of them are phenomenal instruments, but Kiesel gets my vote because of how well the instrument plays right out of the case. The way it was set up blew my Ibanez out of the water.
Also, having only played 35" scale basses for the majority of my playing, I was very impressed with how well the 34" handled the low B. I honestly cannot feel a difference with tension...Though I do use a .135 for it and I don't ever go lower than A.
That being said, I do suggest Ibanez if you aren't necessarily looking to spend all $2k on a bass. Ibanez basses are a great quality for the price, but if you are looking for the best buy AT or closer to $2k, I definitely say go with Kiesel/Carvin. You get some nice custom options to give the bass your own flavor too. The build time can be agonizing from all the anticipation.. but it's well worth the wait.
Just my 2 cents! Lots of other really good options too, especially in the used market.
