Recieved my New Hartke HyDrive HD210 Bass cab.

Wow, this is a really nice sounding bass cab. I have the new Hartke HyDrive HD210 paired with my Carvin BX1500 bass head. With my Lakland 55-02 Deluxe and this rig, just awesome sounding! The B string comes through without any stress or drop in volume. This cab is pretty loud too. I have it on it's side with one 10" on the bottom and one 10" on top of it. Also sweet mids and very good top end!

I still have my Hartke 410 XL cab but sold my Hartke XL115 cab a while back. Now I'm thinking of getting the the matching Hydrive 115 cab to go with this 210 cab.

I never knew how good that Carvin BX-1500 bass head was until today and I'm just loving the way it sounds. It's seems like the 210 cab and the Carvin a great match. I'm glad I snagged it before they closed the Audio Factory. I have everything turn to flat on the amp and same on the bass and it still sound good.

When I add a little here a there on the bass side, it just gets better and better! I have a lot of different tones with the Lakland.

I read a lot of reviews and knocks on this cab. It sound nothing like how of the negative reviews described it. It actually sounds better than my XL cab, its a little sweeter in the mids with better bass tone.

I have a Hydrive 410 and just added a HD210.

Great move, as low volume practice is awesome with some punch.

Then if need be, it gets pretty loud.

I use 2 of them which I stack vertically. Agree on your comments on the sound. Only thing to add is that the low end is never muddy.

I would recommend that you get a second 210; I had a hydrive 115 and was disappointed. A 2×210 rig gives you flexibility and shares the amplifier power evenly between the cabs. I dont understand how you get even power distribution between the individual drivers in a 210 and 410 cab rig assuming both are 8 ohm cabs?

The BX1500 is a killer amp but it's also VERY powerful, especially in BRIDGE Mode, so be careful.

With the BX1500, the OP can mix cabs because it has two separate amps, each with it's own Volume knob.

Ah, thank you. I understand how that could work with the two separate power sections but still think if you really like a particular cab adding a second is likely to give you more of what you like, whilst a different cab may not.

Glad to hear this review! I have converted a Hartke combo 1415 to a 1x15 cab and would love to add a 2x10 to the mix, especially vertically. I love the sound of the 1x15 and it's hartke driver, I am sure the 2x10 would be similar and add some punch. Glad to hear some good things about Hartke, I have always felt that they make quality gear, but don't get mentioned a lot these days.

My brand new cab rubbed up against my guitar stand and scratched the stuff in the back of my SUV.

I run a vertically stacked pair of them from a Genzler 800 and am quite pleased...I only wish they were a tad lighter.

I was noticing this yesterday. I thought it would have been thicker like the Fenders.

It has two separate power amps that have their own individual level controls plus with the Crossover adjustment for biamping.

that can be tricky because "even power distribution" would mean the 4x10 was way louder than the 2x10, trying to "balance" them by ear could lead to too much power fed into the 2x10

it strikes me that this would have been the perfect application for that switching impedance thing that the hydrive single 12s had; switching the 2x10 cab from 8Ω to 16Ω would let somebody just plop it on the 8Ω 4x10, plug it in parallel and have equal power going to all six speakers.

Each volume knob on the BX1500 is post-pre so by turning up the volume on AMP1 (410) you will even out the power distribution. Now the 210 will be limited as compared to the 410, but to go even further you can use the X-Over function on the BX1500 and direct more power hungry lows to the 410 and more mids and highs to the 210, relieving stress from the 210. I suggest the OP run the AMP in bi-amp mode with the X-Over engaged if he plans on adding a 115 or a 410 as a second cab. This is how I ran my rig with my BX1200. Works great.
