Just try 'em

One trick on the guitar impulses is to lead the "bass" frequencies through outside of the IR or other guitar effects. Like a split, pseudo crossover style where the lows from the mid/highs go into a separate track where you apply the guitar IR. Keep the bass frequencies going straight through with no processing. Combine them back together on a separate buss.

All the sound information that identifies the cabinet is in the mid/highs. The lows are basically sine waves, but you need those lows because it provides the "bass". That's what the bass is, low sine waves with harmonics. The IRs or the VST used to process them may filter out the bass. It should, since that's not part of the impulse captured. So to workaround it, just leak the bass through on the side.
