Recommend me a decent inexpensive Looper

on the other hand there's ole Jason & Mosfed that say that they run the pedal without an isolated psu and it runs fine without a problem...

And I use my TC Flashback Delay, which basically has a Ditto Looper built-in, in a daisy chain with no problem too. I think the thing with daisy chains is whether or not the other effects play along well. It's not the daisy chain itself that is the culprit--it's a pesky effect that pulls the others down. So you may get lucky or maybe not depending on what else you're running. I haven't had a problem with my daisy chains.

Jason was talking about the Jamman. I haven't tried that one on a chain.

Yes I've had no problem with the Jamman on an unisolated PS. Totally agree that it depends on what else is drawing power.

Another thing I'd like to ask is this: can I put the looper pedal in the effects loop of my amp (markbass Little Mark 3), or will there be a problem with that setup?

That's what I do with my JamMan. I have it in the amp effect loop.

I'm using the Ditto on a chain with 7 other pedals, mixed digital and analog, and it's ultra-quiet. It's a super fun little pedal, probably not enough for a live show, though I've used it to loop bass tracks while I play harmonica live.

Thanks for the input, now I need to decide whether I need the X2 with the extra footswitch and functions or not.

I'd go find a music store where you can A/B them. I ended up going with the ditto over the X2 because it's fine for what I want to do with it, and I didn't need the extra bells and whistles.

It's quite hard to do that where I live, the closest music stores are 80 miles away. That's 2 hours driving distance.
Anyway, thanks for the input and the recommendations.
