Recommendations for a small rig setup? (2x10)

Hi!
I've been fussing with preamps for the past few months and now its time to finish the job. Currently have an Ampeg BA115HT, but would like to go separates instead.

I have an Eden Navigator preamp and an Aphex 204 exciter in the Nav's effects line. Sounds great! Now, need some suggestions on amp/cab to go under it. Clean, quiet performance without the need for a lot of db (small venues/church).

AMP:
I was thinking about the QSC RMX 850. Bridged @ 8 ohms, 600w is more than ample power. Other ideas?

CAB:
Thinking 2x10 vs. 1x15 for a little more punch. Clueless as to brand/model. Could really use some suggestions here.

Other Ideas:
Is there a decent combo rig out there I should consider instead of separates? I really have no idea. A combo feels redundant with the Eden.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/suggestions!

With a 2 space Navigator, a 1 space Aphex and a potential 2 space amp, you are no longer in the small rig camp. That's a 5 space rack.

Anyway, have you thought about a 1x12, or maybe a pair depending on what you need. It's a nice mix of 10" punch and 15" lows.

eh, that's six spaces when you add the Furman power strip. :D

My thoughts were to keep the pre/effects rack sep. from power amp, so that I could just pull the preamp/head for church gigs where I can use a house amp.

1x12 might just do it. What would be a couple worth considering?

Thanks all!

Great questions...here are more specifics.

Lets set two budgets (and make that for used gear).

BUDGET:
realistic budget: $750 for amp + cab.
"stretch" budget: $1,200 for amp + cab.

SOUND & STYLE:
I play clean, full and on the warmish side. Not really doing any overdrive or distortion. Like clarity, good articulation and punch, but not a scooped sound. Prefer more balanced with even mids. I don't need high dB, just enough good sound - I'm not competing with wailing guitars.
Play finger style and don't really slap. Music is pop/rock.

AXE:
Bass is Musicman SR 5 HH (double bucks).

thanks!

I'd recommend the Eden 212XLT. It's got a lot of low end, but still the full-range Eden growl in the midrange for clarity and cutting through the mix.

QSC amp for power is perfect. The 212XLT is a 400watt cab, so 600 watts would be just right for clear headroom. Don't forget to check Craig's List for stuff, too!

Greetings

I have a great new small rig for small gigs & practice Little Mark II head & EA Wizzy 112 cab.

It sounds great, the heads way more power than the Wizzy can handle but I also have Schroeder 1210 for even more volume medium gig no problem.

Hope that helps!

OK decisions been made.

In transit (arriving today if I'm really lucky :hyper: ):

QSC PLX 1602
Avatar 2x10, 8 ohm cab

Seems to be the best bang-for-the-buck based on my needs and the info. I've been able to find around here.

Thanks all!
