Recommendations for short scale strings?

My SS Jag is currently strung with D'Addario light gauge short scale strings because it was all they had for sale at my local GC. As far as normal bass strings I'm usually more of a medium to heavy gauge kind of guy, I play with a pick and dig in pretty hard sometimes. I lucked out money wise because I personally like the sound of simple GHS Boomers but I thought I might try something different on my Jag this time around.

I want:
-at least "medium" gauge
-not coated
-roundwound, I hate flats
-Aggressive sounding but not so much that it wont sit in the mix well.
-Under $30

Lots of Short Scale stuff out there under your price point.

D'Addario XL Nickels which you already know...

D'Addario Pro Steels - Will be a bit brighter

You hate flats so I wont mention Half-Rounds

DR makes Short Scale Sunbeams and Hi-Beams. These are Round Core Nickel Plated Steel or Stainless Steel.

GHS Boomers as you mentioned

GHS Pressure Wound Flat - These are not "Flatwounds" but they are Round Wounds where the outer windings are pressed into more of an oval shape so they are smoother to the touch. Stronger fundamental than Round Wounds with less string noise and very punchy tone overall.

Rotosound SwingBass 66 Stainless Steel Round Wounds available in Short Scale. Very bright tone, great classic sound.

SIT makes Short Scale round wounds in both Nickel and Stainless Steel variety...

There is a lot out there, these are the more "common" ones I would think...
