Recommendations for teachers in Metrowest Boston MA?

Hey all - from time to time I think that I could benefit from actual instruction. I have worked on short term bases with a couple of people - one 17 years ago to fix some bad technique causing pain, and about 10 years before that for the same thing. I have been self-taught other than that since 1987.

I am decent, but want to learn more theory and application of theory. If I could find a strong teacher to work with near me, I'd be into giving it another go. Probably a lot of Berklee folks scattered around I'd guess. Interested in progressive rock, learning some jazz maybe, etc.

In any event, any reccs?

Thanks,

Can’t believe you are getting crickets from the land of Berklee.
Dave Buda is an excellent teacher. Not too sure if he’s taking students currently but it might be worth an enquiry.

I'm pretty sure most of the faculty in Berklee's bass department live in MetroWest...'cuz they sure as hell can't afford to live in town on those salaries! :)

Go to this link Berklee Faculty and filter by Department = "Bass"
Pick a name, they're all qualified.

Also, look into Abigail Aronson (or "Abigail Aronson-Zocher"), she used to be on the Berklee faculty in the bass department but I don't see her listed there now.

I thought she was guitar faculty? A friend of mine studied with her husband Norm Zocher, apparently a great teacher and mentor.

Abby plays both guitar and bass, but if she is on the guitar faculty that explains why I couldn’t find her listed!

Yeah, she and Norm are both good people. We were all in grad school at NEC together.
