Recording Bass with an Amp Head through a interface?

Hello everyone, I’m new to recording music and had a couple of questions on how I’m using my gear. So currently I’m recording my Squier Jazz Bass and I have it plugged in through a direct box (Sans Amp Bass Driver). From there I plug it in to my Little Marcus 800 bass amp. I connect my amp head through the line out and connect it to my interface (Behringer UCG102) and record on Logic Pro X. Overall I get a great tone, but I’ve been looking at other posts and saw that you’re not supposed to connect a amp head directly to a computer and need a load box. I was just wanting to know if the way I have my gear setup, is there any damage I may cause to my equipment?

The approach you are using is fine.

A load box is necessary when someone is using an amp with a Tube Output section while not having a speaker connected. The load box functions in place of the speaker.

Solid-state amps are typically designed to work without a speaker connected without damaging the amp.

If you are getting most of your tone and EQ from the SansAmp, you can skip the amp head altogether and plug it directly into the audio interface. But if you really want to use the Markbass in the chain, you should not need a dummy load. It’s a sold state head.

I've been recording my amp head (GK Legacy 800) right into my interface and into the recording software. It worked but for years it was missing something. I decided to get a Countryman Type 85 DI and now I just run right into the DI. Sounds incredible, if I need more eq or something then I'll run my amp and then into the DI.
