Recording bass

Hi guys,

I connect my bass to Laney RB2 which has a DI OUT. I purchased an interface to connect to this DI OUT and on the other side plug it to a USB port on the computer. I connected the USB plug to my MAC/garageband but it did not work. Garageband recorded something but it was mostly noise and I suspect it was from the Laney speaker
Is what I have done a workable solution?
What already works for me is to connect my bass guitar through iRIG2 to my MAC/garageband but the bass recording is not all that great, long legato notes get cut off. Any solution or should I try with different basses & EQ settings in garageband?

What you describe should work. I don't use Mac/Garage Band so I can't help with any specifics in getting it working correctly. You might post in Recording Gear and Equipment, and include which interface you're using. Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]

I dont have experience with iRig/Mac but it sounds like a different USB interface may help.
