Recording technique?

yup! relax and do your best! the modern DAW is a breeze for punching in and editing bass parts .....before i was a practicing bass player i used to write and track my bass parts on recordings of my original tunes at the same time ....just compose, punch and edit as i went along.

get a decent loud (your bass) headphone mix so you can play softer on the right hand to mimimize fret clank and noise!

Recording is the same as it's ever been, except it's way easier now for studios to chop your tracks to bits. But there's still no substitute for a good performance.
