I'm about to begin recording the bass tracks to my bands album tonight and was curious about the DI with the Ampeg SVT-4 pro.

For people that own or know this amp, can you recommend any settings? Have you gotten the best results with a pre/post signal from the DI? EQ settings? Compressor?

I have owned and played through the svt4 for around 4 years but never had the chance to record with it. I just wanted as much info as I could get. Thanks.

I wanted to add I'll be using my American MTD 435 for all tracks and a few various effects here and there, if that helps.

If this thread belongs in Amps, can a mod kindly help? Thanks.

I would use an external DI. I have an ampeg b4r which is pretty similiar to the svt4pro. The onboard DI's on ampegs suck hard. Theyre fine for live use but all hissy and terrible when recording. Im sure the studio your going to will have a avalon or countryman or radial or something like that. You can just use the thru on the DI and then mic your bass amp also.
