I'm cranky in my old age.
I had a good friend refinish my Fender Sting Bass. As you can see the Sting was once a Sunburst.

These Basses all have the wire route under the pickguard. I had him make a plug for the hole.

Thought I'd post it up.

I wanted that stripped down look my old original 53 had. It had been stripped down with no guard but I had to go solid becuase of the rout hole/plug.

Yes I can not stand those Black Guards on any of them. :)
 
As a side not the thing loves Slap n Pop without the guard. You would not think the thickness of the guard would change the Bass this much but it does.

It's like an entirely different instrument. :bassist:
