For sale is a circa-2002 Fender Roscoe Beck V with Shoreline Gold Metallic finish and Pau Ferro fretboard. If you’re not familiar with these basses, they are often described as the best basses Fender has ever produced. I bought this bass in 2017 here, but didn’t use it much, as it was competing with my Fodera and Sadowsky and I tended to play the active 5ers more often. It’s in very good condition, a couple of little scratches and dings, no fret wear, no corrosion. There’s some scratches and a small chip in the pickguard, and a light scratch on the back of the body, the neck is pristine. Weight on my kitchen scale is 9 pounds 15 ounces, which is pretty light for a 5er. Nut width is 1 7/8". Serial number SZ2107423. It plays and sounds great. Everything works and it is all original, except for the newer Fender locking strap buttons, and the volume and tone knobs (originals included). Includes the original G&G brown tolex hardshell case and case candy shown. I will ship it the original hard-shell case. It will be wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in a new cardboard box. I'm asking $1,600 $1,500, PayPal is fine, contact me for other payment methods. Free delivery anywhere in the Houston area. Will ship to continental US FREE or to Alaska/Hawaii for actual shipping. Will consider shipping to Canada for actual shipping, insurance and duty costs based on sales price. No International shipping, sorry. This is a great bass but doesn’t get played, and it deserves to have someone who will appreciate it. I’ve been asked to reduce my stable to a “normal” number of basses, so no trades, sorry. Feel free to ask questions in the comments or PM me directly.
Hi Kevan, I am trying to reduce my number of basses, but I have a couple of interests, a Wal 5er, or a legitimate pre-CBS Fender Jazz player.
I have said it before here. This is a bass everyone should own at least once. I really enjoyed my time with the one I owned. And it heavily influenced future designs of basses I currently own. It's a passive tone monster. And every one I have held is ridiculously well made.
Thanks, I agree, it's the most versatile passive bass I've ever played. This is one that I secretly hope doesn't sell .
