Refinishing/Painting

I just bought a Fretless Fender Jazz but I'm not a fan of the color (candy red). I want to repaint it either white or sea foam green. I'm looking for tips on the best way to repaint a body. Thanks!

My best advice would be, don't strip it down to bare wood. Just scuff it and spray over it.

Ok thanks! So just sand the old finish until it's rough and dull-looking and then apply the new paint?

Just refinishing mine (it was poli, no nitro) and it´s a hell of a job.
