Refinishing Tools - Need advice

Hi all, I'm going to visit a friend for 9 days and we have a few bass projects for me to help him with. We are going to refinish two of his basses; a Warwick Streamer BO and a Spector Euro neck through. As you know, they both have curved bodies. I have tons of experience setting up and building Warmoth's, but I've never refinished.

My main question, for now, is what sanding tool recommendations and advice can you share with me? I have a short period of time, so we need to be efficient and do quality work.

I should also mention, the Warwick body will be painted and the Spector will be stained so we need to get to raw wood.

We'll really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

Hands down my favorite surface preparation tool is a 5" random orbit sander fitted with a 220 grit disc and controlled with a momentary action foot switch. I use this for necks, bodies, and a plethora of sanding tasks.

Yep as @rudy4444 said Random Orbital Sanders are perfect for the curvy task.
And I really dig his idea of the pedal, that's slick.
I LOVE the momentary foot switch control because you can "pulse" the sander for really fine control of the sanding disc. It gives you the ability to really refine your touch when sanding round overs, inside contours, or any place that needs a more delicate sanding technique.
