Reggie Hamilton's 1967 Jazz Bass

Hi,

Today I met Reggie Hamilton (the nicest guy you could ever meet), and he made me fall in love with Jazz Basses again. He said the body was made out of alder, but it is very brown. Is it because it is 48 years old? Also, I would like to know more info on the bass. I also know it has Alembic pickups and a Badass II bridge.

It can't be 48 years old if it's a '67. It's probably 40 or 41, depending on what month it was made. I'm interested in this myself, as the MIM Reggie is P/J with no blocks and binding ('67 would have been the first year for blocks and binding, I think- correct me if I'm wrong) no Alembic pups and not even a Badass. Does Fender sell an MIA Reggie with all those features? I understand their reluctance to put Alembic pups in an MIM bass, but they could have done the Badass, you'd think.

If a bass manufacturer wanted to do a sig model for me, it would have to be pretty true to the one I was actually playing. Otherwise, there'd be no point.
