regular Kappa 15?

I need to buy a new speaker for my 15" cab, and I need some advice.

Anybody ever use a Kappa (not the pro or the LF, just a kappa)

According to WinISD, that one seems to fit what I need the best, but I don't see that they are used very much at all, and I was wondering if there was a reason why.

The Kappa 15 has insufficient xmax for bass.

Do it the right way: match the driver to your existing cab.

1 - Calculate your net internal cabinet volume
2 - Download my spread sheet
3 - Locate the SBB4 or QB4 cabinet volume that matches yours
4 - Check the F3 to see if the driver is suitable for your needs

You can always plug the driver T/S data into WinISD to see what it looks like.

Go KProLF, twice the xmax, but follow Bruce's advice and make sure it works in your cab. The standard Kappa 15LF is good too, and so is the Delta 15LF if your cab is big enough.

I did that, and it said the regular kappa was a great fit for my cab, but the kappa pro LF was not far behind.

They're shipping now, I have some. I expect the originals will go on closeout just prior to the new ones being advertised, that will be the clue that they're coming.

I doubt if anything other than the original Deltalites will be discontinued for now.

The old Deltalite 15 wasn't much to write home about. apparently the new ones are much better. I'll have to sit down and do the math before I know exactly how much better.

My understanding is that the Deltalites will be revamped, and the Kappalites are completely new.

interesting. the kappalite 3015 can be used in a much smaller box, with a slightly higher resonant frequency, but the LF takes a much larger box, but you only get a slightly lower frequency.
but what an xmax on the LF! 9.6, that's incredible.


my post you quoted was wondering when the speakers would be available, not the spec sheets
