Anyone a fan of this guy's stuff? I got into this band a while back but only started really heavily listening recently.

I'm a big fan of his tone, especially in this clip from their live performance of the song Baretta -

Played some of his stuff. He normally has pretty nice basslines.
Toshiya of Dir en Grey is awesome aswell, dunno who i like more.
I like Toshiya's bass more for sure

I'm a Dir en grey fanatic. I've seen them 3 times live. I am still kicking myself over not seeing GazettE last year in Tokyo >_<

That said though, I don't compare the two bands. They're both awesome.

On the topic of basslines, Toshiya's old basslines are pretty cool, although I think I like Reita's better.
Though, IMHO, YUKKE from MUCC has some pretty cool basslines and I think Kazu from Kagerou has some of the best I've heard in J-rock.

I personally think he's just your average pick player that backs up the guitarists by playing roots. That's just my opinion.

I give him more credit than that because you can tell on the songs that give him more room that the guy can definitely kill on bass.

Yeah, but it's the Edwards version, I'm not spending 2000 euros no the ESP, which doesn't even seem that impressive.

Haha, yeah I noticed this too, I've only seen some use their fingers, but whatever sounds good, right?

I was also pretty amazed when Heath from X Japan played Scars alternating between fingers and pick, and that's one crazy song.

Reita's style is very entertaining to hear. especially the older songs though the bands new direction does allow for more Bass.
