Reliable and good-sounding flanger?

Hey Y'all,
I love the old MXR Flanger pedals from the late 70's and early 80's, but they all are breaking down and I'm tired of spending money on repairs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who makes a great sounding and RELIABLE flanger pedal?
Thanks, Ron

Some folks around here love their boss flangers, but I'm partial to the DOD FX72 - bought it used - they were made between '87 & '96, stereo, sounds great, only caveats are the occasionally-misfiring bypass switch and the battery door, which tends to go missing sometimes.

+1 on the Boss BF-2 flanger. A lot of bassists have used it/are still using it now and it's still the "secret weapon" for many of them. I liked it for the short-time that I had it (it was borrowed, so I had to give it back).

Normally I would be a good boy and not respond to this, because I have a clear conflict of interest. However, our Flanger is relatively unknown, despite the fact that it is an essential part of Dan Kutz's sound, the bass player in The New Deal. While the clips on our Tri-Mod Flanger page are guitar, there are some low notes that give a decent idea of what it would sound like with bass. OK, I have said more than enough. Time to go back to being good!

This is the only effect I own, and I love it.

I just picked up a mint DOD FX62 chorus, and I'm loving it!

I'm talking about the BF-2 (guitar version) which IMHO sounds better than the BF-2B I''ve tried or the BF-3 I use to own

Yeah, a lot of guys around here seem to feel that way. When I bought my BF2-B back in the mid-90s, I chose it because it doesn't suck out any of the low end like the BF-2, but to each his own. Maybe I should have gotten the BF-2 just because it's a cool purple, not feces brown! ;-)
