SOLD Reluctant FS: '85 MIJ Fender Jazz [$450]

I don't really want to sell this but I have to move at the end of the month and need the funds freed up. Desperate times -> sad sales. Since my other guitar is inexplicably unsold I gotta move this. It's a beauty - it sounds and plays really nicely. It has the Aguilar AG-60 pickup set, currently has some broken-in Labella Nickel Rounds on it. Pickup covers give it some class. It plays really well with effects, fingers, pick and slap. Sounds like a good jazz bass should!

I just changed the tone cap to a paper-in-oil .068 uF cap and it really smoothed out the character with some great vintage thump. The slightly larger value removes some of the honkiness on the roll-off which I really like. I'll leave that but keep the original tone cap with it. It has the original pickups too. Comes well padded in a nice Kaces gigbag.

The original thread has some great pictures (better than I could do). It's got some dings on it = MOJO. No bogus in-house relicing nonsense- you gotta earn that look and this bass did.

Same price as I got it @ $450 shipped. I'll be sad to see it go but like I said, desperate times.

I wish I had a scale, then I could tell you. It's definitely not the heaviest jazz bass I've had but it's a jazz so it weighs a bit more than my precision. I would guess around 9-9.5lbs.
