Removing amp from combo - crazy?

Do a search on Orange. There was a recent thread about amp cases for their amp heads. You should be able to find some user names in there.

Yes, most combo heads are easily removed. They a re built on a U-shaped sheet metal.
You would need to fabricate a top piece for it.

Or just order a 400RB top from GK.

I have that same bass and per an old users manual I found online, it was supposedly made so that the amp was easily removed. I have plans to do this same task. you can also plug in another cabinet right into the combo had you left it a combo. I'm really surprised you had to cut anything away. hmm. Anyway these are great amplifiers, dont let it go! Ans if you need any parts people sell the combos pretty cheap.

You may have overestimated my building skills - I am exceptionally good at taking stuff apart. But back together, maybe not so much...

Reminds me of a lyric I always liked from "Handlebars" from a few years ago - "I can take apart the remote control, and I can almost put it back together".

Back from San Diego now and just took some pics of the Hartke Kickback 15 amp that I modded. I ordered the grill material in the size that I wanted so there was no cutting or painting involved.

Here's a side view of the amp. The grille material wraps around underneath about an inch on each side and is screwed in with metal tapping screws.
