Removing Tape Residue

I'm currently in the process of refinishing my Warmoth PJ, my first attempt at anything like this. Most everything is going well so far. I'm painting the face of the headstock, and when I removed the painters tape, it left some residue in some spots on the back of the neck and fretboard.

The back of the neck has the Warmoth satin finish on it, and the rosewood fretboard is unfinished. What can I use to remove the tape residue without damaging the fretboard or the finish on the neck? I tried searching on here and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks!

Wrap a couple of loops of said tape round your fingers and use the fresh glue on the tape to pull the old stuff off. Anything that disolves it just smears it all over. The tape pulls ALL the old glue off. You just keep tapping the glue side of the tape on the old glue until it all lifts. I do it all the time with double sided gel tape.
