So the way my band has been going, we haven't been playing live shows, or even looking for them! (we are playing acoustic stuff though, just not our true sound of electric goodness)
Because of having my vocalist PA and a Sansamp BDDI I've never needed a full blown rig.
With our recording for our debut album taking place in the next month and half, I've been focusing just on my tone.
So far that has involved getting a new bass, and in the near future a few pedals.
Now, we have plans to film a music video to go along with one of our songs (since we can't play shows right now we need some form of promotion!)
Our guitarist, and fill in guitarist, both will have a half stack in the video.
Not that it is totally needed, but I would love to have a half stack too, just for the looks in this case.
I don't want to spend money on a cheap rig just for this, and I don't want to spend the grand on my rig of choice, since there is no real need for it otherwise.
I care more about having my "dream" tone for the recording then getting a rig that will sit around other then when we make this.
So, is there somewhere that is relatively cheap to rent rigs from? (and I live near Chicago)
(The reasons for not playing live is a lack of drummer and rhythm guitarist, though we do have fill ins for this video
and by 'relatively cheap' I mean I don't want to spend enough money on renting that I could buy with)
