Repairs - Chicago Metro Area

Greetings

Been out of the game for a while. Can anybody recommend an amp repair shop in the Chicago metro area? I used to have a guy but apparently he's retired.

If you get desperate you can hit Midwest Audio out here in the NW burbs.

Try Chicago Fret Works in Chicago (Lakeview?). They were the only shop that would work on my basses shortly after stay at home order ended.

You might check out Deltronics (two locations). Only had one experience with them but, from what I can tell, the work was clean (looked good to my untrained eye and the amp works) and it was done in a reasonable amount of time.

Just curious, who does Chicago Music Exchange send their stuff to, or do they have in-house people?

Shake Shop in Logan Square does amp repair. Their Tech Matt is a good guy.

My Go-To shop for excellent, affordable guitar repair and setup work is
Player's Guitars at 111th street,

but I don't think they do amp repair.
Their gear for sale is all used and depending on the day it ranges from just ok, to an absolute treasure trove.

Third Coast Guitar does amps. I've been referred to them by CME a couple times. They're located downtown, but conveniently for me one of their guys goes and works out of Tobias Music in Downers Grove a couple days a week. Stuff he can't do there he brings back to the main office. I think there's at least one other satellite location for them if you're like me and would rather not go into the city itself.

I've only had guitar stuff done by them, but it's all been top notch.
