Firstly, I really like the tone of the 2 rs210's. I've had a set before that I gigged for around 6 months, and now have another set that I've gigged for about 6 months.
Recently I've picked up another Big Al 5, and it's punchyness down low is pushing the low end excursion of the rs210's to the verge of fart-land. My band-leader likes low end, and I like clean tight low end with a punchy low mid focus. I'm not a pillowy soft indistinct low end guy. I like clarity and full clean punchy bass tone. Which the rs210's do well... just that they're being worked a bit harder than I'd like. (I'm going to work with some EQ settings on the low and low mids and see if I can illeviate some of the issues)
So logical answer would be to pick up 2 rs212's, but I don't have the room to haul them in my lincoln MKZ trunk. And 1 8ohm rs212 wouldn't really cut it I think.
Whatever I get would be paired with a Markbass F500, and my Big Al 5 playing a wiiiiiide assortment of classic rock, funk, country and blues in a fairly loud 3-piece without PA support most of the time.
I prefer to stay as small as possible, but need the output to be near the 2 rs210's. 2 small cabs, or one larger cab. 2 square type cabs will not fit.
I'm considering:
Bergantino AE212
Genz Benz Neox 212T
Thunderchild (probably would need 2 = $$$$)
fEarful/nEarful (concerned about overall size)
others???
