Replacement drivers for GK400RB210?

I bought a GK400RB210III on ebay, and when I got it plugged in, the speakers were buzzing like crazy, even at low volume. I am assuming they are blown (haven't checked impedance yet). Trying to settle with seller, but I assume I will have to replace the drivers. Any recommendations (I am currently looking at Eminence BP102). Also, if anyone has a pair of 10" bass drivers in good shape they are looking to unload for reasonable price, let me know.

Your best bet to match the speakers to the cabinet is to order replacement speakers from GK.

You might be able to get the blown speakers re-coned. Check for places in your area or search on line. That's cheaper than brand new speakers.

Any other speaker is just going to be a guessing game on whether it will match the cabinet or not..

I know. The question keeps getting asked and answered. It's sort of like saying "I blew two of the pistons in my Ford. I found some Chevy pistons at a wrecker that look in good shape. Will they work?"

I know some of you are frustrated with the "alleged" duplicate posts for this apparently frequent problem, and I appreciate the piston analogy, but thats not exactly quite the same thing. If you reference the eminence or GC website and look under Legend BP102s, they are recommended as replacement speakers for GK 2x10 and 4x10 cabinets. I am just trying to see if there might be some other recommendations. But thanks for the obvious suggestion of getting replacement drivers from GK. Just love the warm comraderie here in the forum.

With respect, it's not my job, or anyone else's here, to reference anything in regards to your question. That's your job! I would suggest that if a manufacturer such as Eminence says that one of its products will work in such and such a cabinet then perhaps you should take take them at their word.

As for "alleged", do you know how many times I, and other people like me here on this forum, have answered basically this same question??? Do a search the information is there.

There is a huge amount of camaraderie on this forum but it has limits. All of us have time constraints and give advice if and when we can. To keep on telling players that a driver needs to be mated to a suitable enclosure to work properly gets tiresome. Read up on the existing posts on this subject and learn from what has been asked and answered before.

Not that I can find. Considering the wide variation of cabs listed there, including both sealed and vented, so doing would be irresponsible. One driver model could not possibly offer optimal performance in all those cabs. I think GC pulled that quote out of thin air.

Well, everyone buys speakers from somewhere...and many cab manufacturers don't make their own speakers. I suspect that many speakers with a cab manufacturer's brand name on them are really re-labeled mass production speakers. Nothing wrong with that, either.

Eminence makes one hell of a lot of speakers for various other manufacturers. Carvin is one and Acme Sound is another. Certainly the speakers in my Acmes are nothing like the off the shelf offerings that Eminence produces. I really don't think that a cab designer would limit him/herself to a stock speaker when he/she could have a speaker made to suit the design.
