Replacement fretless j pups.

I currently have a MIM J bass with the vintage 60's pups installed. They are certainly a step up from the originals but I mainly use the bridge pup and the hum is less than desirable. I also want a little hotter sound from the bridge pup. I've been looking at Dimarzio and I'm trying to decide between the Area J and the Model J. I've read many posts and just want a fresh perspective.

Never tried the Area J, but I just put a Model J on the bridge of my fretless and I really like it a lot.

I believe Dimarzio has a return policy so might as well try them both?

I have lindy fralin pickups in my mim jazz (not fretless) and I've been very happy with them. www.fralinpickups.com I think they were $270-280 for the pair
