Hey guys, real quick, I have the Behringer450 watt head, and it sounds like cr@p, distorts and just not a good tone at loud volumes, Im looking for a replacement head, I found this one, any one know if this things is capable of getting loud enough and is better than my behringer? You gave a lot of that up by "matching" a 210 and 115 cab.
The G-K BL600 is a good amp that will get pretty loud. A used G-K 700RB II would be better (or new).
Don't count out the Peavey just because it didn't suit one person. There is a darn good reason they are everywhere, a lot more people play with their ears not their eyes
well im selling off my Behringer (tired of the headaches) Im just looking for a good work horse bass head that can get loud and have a good sound. Im selling my 1 15. So ill be using my 2 10 and possibly another 2 10. Or maybe just getting a 4 10. But the amp head is my problem. I have looked around used. But just speaking "New" what would a good powerfull bass head for Rock/Punk type sounds that is under $400? thanks : p
The Peavey amp is fine as BStr.says. & a 410 cab or 2 210 cab is a better bet than unmatched cabs (unmatched speakers etc)
What about the Ampeg PF350 or 500??
The GK is ok too, but as also suggested, I'd go for used & try to get the better quality than the Backline series.

Im looking at the Ampegs, The 350 looks really cool, And I think going from a Behringer to an Ampeg would be a step in the right direction ; ) haha. Ill keep my eyes peeled for some deals, Thank you everyone in here for your help so far. And If you have any other Heads in mind please dont hesitate to tell me : D
Really, I've yet to find a better sounding head for less money than that PF350. I've got one and love it. But whatever you ultimately decide, it's definitely a step in the right direction to unload the Behringer.
Im gonna suggest a Peavey Tour 450 or 700 if you can afford it. Lots of power, great clean tone, won't break the bank, or your back.
Has a really versatile EQ section. I use it with a Spector Euro 5LX through either an Avatar 212 or Ampeg 810e and love my setup.
Edit: Also comes with a standard 5 year warranty if you buy new. I haven't had a single problem with mine, and I've had it about a year now.

+1 on that!! I hate to jump on the "I hate behringer bandwagon".....but my Ultrabass 4500 just...well sucks haha
When people ask about my head I wanna say proudly "I own an Ampeg!" (even though its an inexpensive one)
Instead of saying "I own a....um......Behringer....." *hangs head and walks into dark corner......

Don't buy because of the brand name, get the amp that has the best tone and features that you want.

Ive heard that word used around here but never actually seen/heard one. I know its a cab, but how would one attain one?

Those headliners look great on paper, I'd love to give one a try, but I haven't seen one yet. That's their amp that is matched with their inexpensive line of cabs, but it looks pretty good. I'm assuming that the amp would get quite loud (600 watts @ 4 ohms, but your cab will only get about 300 assuming it's an 8 ohm cab).
I would suggest also getting another 210 or a 410 also, two 10's really wouldn't be enough for me in a rock band setting. I'd recommend at least a 212 and 400+ watts from an amp.
