Replacement speaker for Eden Ex1104

Good morning from the UK

seeking some advice on speaker/can pairings. I’m looking to replace a broken speaker (coil gone I believe) in an eden 1x10 cabinet

In your collective opinions which if either would be a suitable replacement for the now sadly discontinued ES1040-4-2-300 it came with.

When replacing speakers that share a common space in a cab you will need to replace both, unless you are replacing just one with an OEM replacement. Even then that can be iffy as specs can change.

If you can find, or measure the internal dimensions of your cab and port dimensions, if it has ports, you will need to match that up with the T/S parameters of the speaker.

Unfortunately the seller doesn't appear to provide that info. You'll need to go to the manufacturer's site for that.

Without running the T/S parameters against the dimensions of the cabinet, there is no way to know if any substitute speaker will work well in your cab. This is not much of an issue with guitar speakers and cabs, but it can be a very big deal for bass.

Other's here will probably be able to assist further once the dimensions are known. Or may have first hand experience with your particular cab (what's the model number BTW) and those speakers.

This is definitely a Look Before You Leap situation. You are wise to ask before buying the speakers.

Thought it might be a little more complicated to work out a good match.

I’ve found this online for the Eminence speaker. Little
Overwhelmed by all the figures to be honest.

can internals are 27x30x27 cm with an additional 2cm port at the bottom

Can you shed any light!?

does that mean it might just work!? Or have I missed something vital?

Most Eminence speakers are pretty good for working in a wide range of enclosures so that one may be your best bet. I remember back in my car audio days some subwoofers basically stated 'give it at least 2 cubic feet but no more than 6 cubic feet'! We used a lot of Eminence drivers either in small car enclosures or large PA enclosures..same driver.

This guy, the PRV Audio 10FR300, is built similarly to the original ("full range", meaning in this instance a dual-cone driver, with a "whizzer cone" in the middle that extends the response). Only 150 W RMS and 8 ohms, but it's very sensitive (in the highs) so it may end up just as loud (just be careful how much wattage you feed it with):

AFAIK impossible to find in Europe, so enquire into shipping costs from the US.

Another dual-cone by Eminence, the B102 (*not* to be confused with the BP102). 8 ohms; 200 W RMS, but not very efficient (93 W/1m sensitivity).

Thanks! I’ll look in to the availability of those. I’ve a 300w head I’d like to continue pairing so keen for a 300w cab if poss. Not the easiest speaker to find I’m realising!
