Replacing a nut

Depends on how particular you are about your setup, but from 5 bucks to probably 50-60 bucks. You can get out on ebay or parts shops, and find a premade plastic nut, glue it in and be done. Or take it to a tech, and get a quality custom one cut -- that should cost you 60 bucks or so, depending on the rates charged in your area. Slap a premade one on a 90 buck bass -- you should be fine.
