Replacing PJ pickups

FWIW, not sure what the bridge pickup is, but if it's single coil, maybe just replacing it with a dual coil might be a cost effective option?

As far what kind? lol That's more of an artistic issue than a technical one. Experimenting can get expensive.

Good luck! :)

I got a new bass that has a pair of PJ pickups. I wanted to replace them. Could anybody tell me what's a good inexpensive set of PJ that sounds good? Btw... If it helps my bass is a Ibanez GSR200.

I own 2 of those basses and the pickups are pretty much junk. Unfortunately in the pickup world the words "inexpensive" and "quality" don't usually go together. I replaced the pickups with vintage Fenders and it was like playing a new bass. Even the MIM Fenders would sound better than those Ibanez stock ones. You can find them on ebay.

That's what I thought about doing when I was looking at pickups but idk what I'm going to yet.

Dimarzio PJ set would be a nice upgrade and inexpensive one imo.

+1. I replaced the P/J pickups on my Fender Precision Deluxe Special with the Dimarzio P/J set. They were a little bit over a hundred bucks and they sound great and much higher output than the stock Fenders. This is (was) my back up bass but I really like the tone since the pick up swap- I even threw down for setup/fretjob and now this bass is slowly becoming my primary.
