Repurposed Old Things

Here's what the cabinet really looks like. I'm not going to change anything other than add a little shelf or two and some glass racks up underneath the top.

My parents had a liquor cabinet just like that. Took out the TV and added a few shelves. It was hard to steal my father's bourbon when they were home. There was a catch on the doors that always made a loud clank when opened or close. Maybe that is why they did it. ;)

I've got a pair of banjo, a couple of resonators, a tailpiece and a sound hole cover here

A better picture of the tailpiece sound hole cover and one of the banjos.

I really like how most of repurposed objects become some sort of furniture. I design/make furniture and do this pretty often, but the original object usually gets lost in translation. It's more of a reuse or upcycle thing when I do it.

A chair made from a smashed solid maple dresser I found in trash beyond repair. I left the old dresser finish on it where I could.

When I first moved to Vancouver, I saw a Volkswagen Van pulling a matching rear-end of another Volkswagen Van as a trailer. Looking around Google, here is one example. I guess it's more common than I thought.

Nice, I love pegged joints.

About ten years ago I realized that my chillins...my class... we're tearing up headphones...computer headphones...the Absolute cheapest 'phones that the least amount of $ could buy...at a remarkable rate!
I started snipping the wires before throwing the headphones away.
I learned how to make a helluva square knot as a Tenderfoot.
I have 14 bird feeders hanging from those headphone wires here on our lil piece of god's good earth.
