Resoldering a Split Coil?

The Yamaha pickups have been clipped, but show continuity and resistance, so I'm planning on soldering leads back on and using the OGs instead of taking a Dremmel to the shell of a new pickup.

I want to resolder leads onto the split coil pickups above. Labeling the left pad A, and the right pad B, and the pickups 1 and 2, am I correct in assuming

"hot" wire to A1, B1 to A2, and B2 to "ground" wire?

I've soldered many times, but never on the pickup itself, always on the leads. Is there anything I need to be aware of soldering on the pickup itself?

Place the pickups in the orientation they will be when placed in the bass with the solder points next to each other. Jumper the two closest points of the two halves. The other two are your leads to the pot and ground. It doesn’t matter hot or ground if you are only using one pickup in the bass but you can check by mounting it, striking a string and your multimeter will tell you which way the current is flowing.

Check your magnet heights, are they level? Are they staggered? Staggered means you will need to find the highest mags and they will usually be the A string mags. Orient as needed before soldering.

No secrets on soldering that, you have nice clean points to work with. Just tin your wires, reflow the solder points and connect. Just do it quickly to avoid heating the coil wire up too much.
