Resources/Tutorials for using MIDI live?

I've been toying with the idea of using a laptop/Interface/MIDI controller combo live, but would like to learn as much about this as I can.

My plan is to use my Macbook Pro running Pro Tools to run Hybrid for a live synth rig.

I have several MIDI books, but they all just seem to explain what MIDI is, but not how it can be used in a live setting. Is there any site or book that gets into detail about this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, MIDI triggering in Ableton Live is very easy.
