Restringing this 2018 Fender Jazz Bass for first time.

I love trying new types of strings so if it was me I would test the Black Beauties first (unless you have other basses for them).

However, if you already know you love Rotos you will probably end up with them in the end. Nothing sounds quite like Roto 66s. There's something unique going on in the mids with the 66s, even after they go "dead" (which, like it or not, they will do relatively fast). Personally I loved their mellow, broken in tone but if you're loving them for the bright zing there might be better (or at least longer lasting) options.
