Reverb tank + mixer = ?

I have a salvaged Accutronics reverb tank, and I want to run it through a Peavey PV6 mixer, which has no onboard effects. I'm currently running it through the effects loop. I'm just not getting much reverb in the mixer output. This is with the FX master maxed, and the channel FX maxed. I'm just about to get the right amount of reverb when the controls reach their limit. I've researched the Accutronics site, and I believe I'm dealing with an input/output impedance issue. Any thoughts on how (if at all possible) I could get these units to work together better?

Is that just the reverb tank with no driver circuitry? The precise input and output impedance will vary depending on the model, but the only way I've got a bare tank to work satisfactorily with a mixer is to drive it from a headphone output and return to an input channel with a high-Z input and plenty of gain. Ideally you would have dedicated driver and recovery circuitry for the tank, but you may be able to get it to work this way.

I attempted the same thing with a spring reverb tank from an 80's fender amp and got about the same result.
