In my opinion, the absolute BEST (and very hard to find) color combination Reverend has ever released with the matching black headstock instead of natural wood. This bass has stupid low action, a phenomenal sounding B string, bound and blocked, and fretwork is on par with boutique instruments. Balances great and very comfortable oval neck. 2 tiny swirls pointed out in the headstock pic. All passive simplicity and incredibly big sounding 5. 19mm string spacing, which so many of you seem to be looking for. Currently wearing EB flats.

  • Split Brick, reverse-P neck pickup. Reverend says: Strong lows and highs, open mids. Like a vintage P bass pickup but with more beef, yet retains clarity. 43 gauge wire, ceramic magnet, 9.5K ohms.
  • Thick Brick, MM-style bridge pickup. Reverend says: Warm and thick with strong mids. Output and punch like an active, but more organic sounding. 42 gauge wire, ceramic magnet, 8K ohms.
  • Passive — volume, tone, balance
  • Korina body, flame maple top
  • 5-piece maple/walnut neck, rosewood fretboard with blocks and binding
  • 34" scale, 21 frets
  • Nut width: 47mm
  • Fretboard radius: 12"
  • String spacing at bridge: 19mm

If It's still here in February (I'll be in SF then) I'll take it.
Gosh, this color with the block inlays is the cutest one I've ever saw.
It will complement my Mercalli 5 FM turquoise.
These are excellent basses.

Nice looking bass. How is the tension on the b? Do the strings line up with the poles or is it the picture throwing it off? How does the neck feel vs a fender?

The B feels great. I have played sloppy B's before and I felt this bass was much easier to handle the B. You can string thru body or go straight from the bridge and the B is currently thru body while I have the rest thru the bridge. As for the neck, it feels better that any Fender I've ever played. Honestly, the quality of the bass is easily on par w US Fenders, dare I say more so.

As for the strings over the poles - you are right, they are not exactly over the poles which I believe is by design. The MM pup starts perfectly aligned with the B, and varies just slightly from string to string from there while the P pickup was perfectly aligned with the treble, G string and varies slightly on the way back up to the B.

Either way I haven't heard any effect on the sound,any weak g-string or any weak B string or any variance in sound from string to string or pick up to pick up.
