Rh450 Configurations ???

I have the RH750 as well, and when A/Bing it with my GK MB800 I couldn't tell which was louder.

The GK was much, much fuller and deeper down low of course, and I do agree that the TC behaves differently than most other amps in loud band situations. Good or bad is a matter of taste of course.

+1 to the idea of a TC head without the current power management, that would be interesting.

No one whinged about volume before they released the specs. I had a 450 and it kept up with the LM3 and was, IMO, louder, and didn't peak at 12 o'clock on the dial like the MB LM3 did.

I've now got a 750 and its a killer amp.

Well indirectly it's the reason I got rid of mine - not the "loudnes" per se but the way it gets there - by limiting power to low frequencies. It just did not work in my ska/reggae band. The other guys thought it was my bass - got me to bring along all my basses to try at rehearsal and none of them sounded "right". Next gig I brought an Eden WT550 and there was smiles all round.

If the tone works for you then that's great. TC knew the sound they wanted and - I suppose cleverly - worked out that you don't need a 500 watt amp to get there. 300 works in an SVT - why not a solid state amp? Problem is - if you don't want that tone you're SOL.

I loved the tech in that head - the presets, tuner, footpedal etc.... just make it sound like a Walkabout dagnabbit.

FWIW, I find the RS212 to have a strange form factor. Very deep, and a much more noticeable schlep than the RS210.

While it is probably correct that a pair of the same cab would be best, I am very happy with my mixed 210/212 stack. The smaller 210 is great for small
gigs.

One more thing regarding the TC RH heads - don't forget the preset levels.

Ignore the naysayers. If they don't like the tone, that's one thing, but those amps are LOUD. I used mine with a 210 and a 212.

I've yet to use mine past 11:00 except for an outside gig. I've only had one occasion with someone telling me to turn up. Usually the opposite!

I have a 450 and initially, ran the RS 2x12 and 2x10 combo. It was far too "dark" for my needs. I exchanged the TC cabs for a Berg AE410. It was better, but it still had a darkness to the tone and when really pushed, a nasty mid-grind that I simply couldn't get rid of.
I've kept the 450 as a backup amp and have run it through my Berg NV610 and it definitely sounds much better through that cab.
No, I would not put it in the same category as my Marshall VBA400 tube amp... I know it's not a fair comparison.
As a back-up amp, it should be fine as I have not had any problems with the amp, but be aware that the 450 is not a plug and play amp.It will test your ears and try your wrist, dialing a sound that you like. The up side, you can easily store those sounds in the pre-sets.
